St.
Paul's United Church of Christ, in Dearborn Heights, is very active in doing
mission work in the downtown Detroit area. One of the programs involves the
preparation of Health Kits for the folks in the Cass Corridor. Groups meet at
church to help assemble the kits which contain items like small travel size
toothpaste, deodorant, bar soap, wash cloths, tissue packs, and shampoo. The
Health Kits are handed out to needy individuals, along with food supplies and
clothing each month as volunteers (both adults and teens from the church)
travel downtown to help in this project.
